HPV 8-Strain Test using self-collected first-void urine (FVU) in women has been shown to be as effective as self-collected swab kits in at least one major study published in the Journal of Cancer Research and Treatment. HPV testing in men is not currently available with this kit.

  • Gold-standard NAAT laboratory testing
  • Private at-home first-void urine collection
  • Comprehensive screening for HPV16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58, 67
  • Results reviewed by a certified healthcare provider
  • HIPAA-compliant laboratory processing and reporting

EASY SAMPLE COLLECTION: The collection kit and instructions make sample collection a simple, convenient process that can be done in the privacy and comfort of your home.

MULTIPLE INFECTION SCREENING: This test kit screens for all 8 high-risk HPV strains with a single sample for comprehensive results. Please note HPV33, HPV52, HPV58, and HPV67 are reported as a single result.

PRIVATE TESTING: Discreet at-home sample collection in plain packaging allows for the highest quality lab testing without visiting a clinic. A certified physician or nurse practitioner signs off on all screening test requests.

ACCURATE RESULTS: NAAT testing is the gold standard for detecting HPV16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58, and 67 in female urine samples. For urine samples, these tests are the most accurate currently available.

  2. Collect a first-void urine sample at home following included instructions
  3. Mail your sample using the prepaid return envelope
  4. View confidential results online within 1–3 days after lab receipt

While not a substitute for pap smears, growing evidence shows that HPV testing of high-risk strains like 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58, and 67 detects potential precancerous cells earlier than pap smears, especially in the case of cervical cancer, where HPV 16 and 18 are responsible for approximately 70% of cases.

For women aged 30–65, the US Preventative Services Task Force recommends either a pap smear every 3 years, high-risk HPV testing every 5 years, or co-testing (pap + HPV) every 5 years. High-risk HPV testing is also recommended after an abnormal pap result.

HPV is sexually transmitted, but current methods of detecting HPV in male urine are not consistently effective. Women have 200x the detectable cells in urine, making HPV detection more reliable in females.

FAQ's

How accurate are at-home tests?

At-home tests that use laboratory-based NAAT or PCR testing are highly accurate and comparable to clinic testing when samples are collected correctly. Our lab prides ourselves on advanced technology and accurate testing procedures. Awarded one of the most accurate labs in 2024 we continue to strive for the most accurate results for our customers.

What is NAAT testing?

NAAT (Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing) detects the genetic material of an infection and is considered the gold standard for early detection and multi-pathogen testing.

What is first-void urine and why is it used?

First-void urine is the initial part of the urine stream and contains the highest concentration of infectious organisms, making it more accurate than standard urine samples.

How long does it take to get results?

Currently, we average a little less than 58 hours until you get your results back.  This includes weekends, and delays if your sample returns as positive or if the results do not adhere to our strict quality control guidelines.  In those cases, we rerun the test from scratch to ensure accuracy.
